Knitting in the new year :)

So January is over half done, and I have been a busy bee knitting away. The best thing about winter is that I have my knitting to keep me warm :). I figured the orders would slow down in the new year but they haven't! I guess not everyone got a knitted item they may have wanted for Christmas.

Now I have the beginnings of a Dr Who scarf on my needles. I did so many little projects for Christmas that it is so nice to be able to get into a big project. Not that knitting a scarf is a big project but a 10 foot scarf will be the longest I have ever knit. Very excited!

My beginner class is full this month, which is great! I figured that learning something new was there New Year's resolution but the girls all said that it was just something they wanted to learn :) which is even better as they are more likely to stick to it. As I have said so many times, there is no better feeling than when you make something yourself, and that's the feeling I want these girls to have when they finish there first project :)

And they have finished there first project :) A hat made with Cascade Eco Duo yarn, which is an Alpaca/Wool mix, very soft! They were so happy to actually finish there first project! I am so proud of them :)

So now they are onto a matching scarf to go with there hat :) We have one last beginners class next week and A matching scarf to go with there hat is just the right project to end with :) They will love the set and always think back to the first projects they ever knit!

So this has been a great start to the New Year! I cannot wait to see what the rest of winter will be like for all us knitters :)
